Children’s Village

The WWH2H Children’s Village is home to the precious children God brings to us for care.  They are nurtured and loved by directors “Papa” Oscar and “Mami” Amy Serrano, our many wonderful house mommies, our amazing WWH2H Church family, and the numerous teams and friends who come to see them every year. This is NOT an orphanage. It is a Christian family God has created for these, His beloved children.  Amy said it best after visiting Disneyland, which is billed as the “Happiest Place on Earth”.  She said they are wrong; our Village is the happiest place on earth, because Jesus lives there. Another visitor told us she could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit the minute she stepped onto our property.

Each child has sponsors who support them monthly, correspond with them often, and some come to visit them in person.

There are plans afoot this year to open our WWH2H Private Christian English Immersion School. The Big Idea is to have it located on our church property in Puerto Cortes, when funds become available to build.  But for now, we will begin in September with Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st grades in facilities at the Village. Those in grades 2-7 are schooled in nearby Tegucigalpita.  Our middle and high school children go to private school in Puerto Cortes.

The Village has separate facilities for our boys, girls and toddlers/babies.  In addition, there are bodegas (storage houses), a guest house, a tech school, and a large playground.

The weekly schedule for our children includes prayer time, Bible study, chores, Sunday School, music and art lessons, school, daily supervised homework, and of course lots of soccer, (football) the favored sport in Honduras. Every day, the older “brothers and sisters” assist the Mommies with the bathing, dressing and hairdos for the “Littles”.

The WWH2H Children’s Village is an amazing place.  For a blessing you will never forget, please come visit us sometime on one of our many teams that go each year from the US. For more information contact WWH2H at 509-427-8585 or maryf@wwh2h.
